FAQs

Who do I get in touch with to set up an appointment?

You can contact me directly by scheduling a free introduction call through my booking link:

https://calendly.com/yourtherapyroom/freeconsult

What days and times do you see clients?

I hold therapy sessions Monday through Thursday from 11 am to 9 pm. I'm a night owl, so if you want therapy after work, I am your type of therapist! If you need morning sessions, I'm not the one!

When can I cancel without being charged?

I model healthy boundaries with clients by having a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you fail to cancel within 24 hours, you will receive a charge for the full fee. That goes both ways: If I fail to cancel within 24 hours, you will get a therapy session on me! Anything canceled before the 24-hour window will not receive a charge.

Where are you located?

Therapy with me is available online across California. You must be in California at the time of the session for me to provide therapy services to you – the law! Once you sign up, you will receive an email with a link for Therapy Notes, where you can create a client account. We will meet through the client portal.

How much do therapy sessions cost?

I charge a $250 daytime rate for 50-minute therapy sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and my evening rate from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. is $270 for a 50-minute therapy session. Want a lower rate? Ask about my one-month or two-month packages for weekly scheduled sessions. I accept debit cards, credit cards, HSAs, and FSAs as forms of payment. I can also provide superbills, which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

What are Therapy Accelerators?

A Therapy Accelerator is an individualized, deeper dive, method of therapy designed to help clients get to the root of their symptoms quicker. Instead of attending therapy one hour per week for months, why not carve out a weekend or a week for a Therapy Accelerator? It's a cutting-edge approach to help people feel better faster in a more customized way. No need for a weekly therapy appointment.

Why should I Do Therapy Intensives instead of a normal 50-minute session?

Therapy Intensives are more effective and efficient than normal 50-minute therapy sessions. A 3-hour Therapy Intensive allows for 2.5 hours of depth work. That's the equivalent of five 50-minute sessions or more than a month of therapy – in a single day!

Do you take insurance?

I am a private-pay, out-of-network provider. While I don't accept insurance directly, your insurance plan may have out-of-network benefits (most PPO plans), meaning they will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. If you have out-of-network benefits with Thrizer, you will only have to pay your co-pay for our sessions instead of paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursements.

What types of clients do you see?

I see males, females, non-binary clients, and everything in between. I see clients ages 14-45 individually. I hold family sessions for my teen clients. No, I do not see couples.

When do you give homework?

I give homework at the end of the session if it's related to our work together, and it will help you reach your goals faster. Homework is an app to download, YouTube videos to watch, Instagram people to follow, or articles to read. I will give other resources and suggestions to create a holistic type of healing if it will benefit.

Where did you get your experience?

I started working in community mental health in 2009 and continued until 2019 in Los Angeles. In 2020, I started working in San Diego via online therapy. I did all my schooling and intern hours in LA and moved to San Diego, where I started working in the online space and currently live.

Why should I choose you?

I fit most with people who feel "different" and who don't mesh with most traditional therapists. I'm specific for personality types that enjoy non-traditional therapists who make you feel like you're talking to a friend with expert knowledge in trauma, LGBTQ issues, and open-minded lifestyles. I'm a therapist with life experiences from the streets – not just the books. I'll keep it real and don't only tell you what you want to hear.

How do you conduct sessions?

I have a CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy) approach with a trauma recovery lens. I have created a unique format for my therapy so you can get the most out of it. After getting to know you and your goals, we will tailor treatment to your needs. If I don't think I can help, I will find resources and referrals to someone who will.
