Trauma Recovery

Therapy for Trauma & PTSD makes recovery possible.

Let’s get real for a second: living with trauma isn’t something you just “get over.” It sticks with you, creeps into your everyday life, and shows up in ways you might not expect.

Maybe you’ve been through something that’s left a lasting impact, or maybe your trauma is so buried that you’re only now realizing how much it’s been affecting you.

Either way, I’m here to tell you – you don’t have to keep living like this. Healing from trauma is possible, and trauma recovery therapy is where it starts.

What does trauma feel like?

Trauma can appear in many ways, and it’s not always easy to spot. Maybe you’re constantly feeling irritable, lashing out at the people closest to you. Or perhaps you’re struggling to sleep – whether it’s nightmares or just being unable to quiet your mind at night.

You find yourself avoiding thoughts about what happened, and maybe you’re even losing chunks of memory around specific events. You always want to protect yourself, and trusting others is difficult. Does any of this sound familiar?

Some of the most common symptoms of trauma and PTSD include the following: Sleep difficulties, nightmares, or insomnia; Constant irritability or feeling on edge; Avoiding thoughts or reminders of the trauma; Gaps in memory or difficulty remembering parts of your life; Feeling like you always need to be on guard or protect yourself; Trouble trusting others, especially in relationships; Finding yourself in toxic relationship patterns; Up-and-down moods that are hard to predict; and Numbing out through work, social media, or substance use.

A lot of people with trauma find themselves stuck in unhealthy cycles – whether it’s toxic relationships, people-pleasing behaviors, or using work or substances to disconnect from reality. That fight, flight, or freeze response kicks in, and your body is constantly in survival mode. Over time, that stress can even lead to physical health issues, like autoimmune disorders. It’s a lot to carry; you don’t have to struggle alone.

What types of traumas do I work with?

Trauma doesn’t fit into a box and looks different to everyone. I work with a wide range of trauma experiences, including:

  • LGBTQ+ trauma from discrimination, rejection, or bullying
  • Childhood trauma from neglect, emotional abuse, or family issues
  • Abuse (emotional, physical, neglect, bullying, or domestic violence)
  • Acute traumas, like sexual assault, accidents, or medical trauma
  • Religious trauma from experiences in oppressive or toxic religious settings
  • Medical trauma, whether from long-term health issues or scary medical experiences

Whatever your trauma looks like, we’ll work through it together. Trauma recovery isn’t about pretending like it never happened – it’s about learning how to take your power back, process what you’ve been through, and move forward in a way that feels safe and empowered.
